Beach Media Fest

Beach Media Fest is an opportunity for students to meet and get involved with the student-run publications on campus.

Who are the students you see running around in teal shirts? BEACH MEDIA that’s who! With the recent addition to the CSULB family, Beach Media is holding their first annual Beach Media Fest to celebrate their student-run publications.

On May 1st from 12-4 p.m. at the Speaker’s Platform. Stop by to meet the team, your editors and staff from CSULB’s JPR department, and grab some freebies from local Long Beach businesses like Southland Credit Union, CSULB Foodie Club, NAHJ and many more!

“Beach Media Fest allows our students to connect with the greater community in Long Beach,” said Beach Media business director, Kristina Agresta. “Many CSULB students aren’t from around here and don’t spend a lot of time on campus, so it’s a great opportunity to connect them with businesses, clubs and services that they may not have known about.”

We’ll be highlighting: The Daily Forty-Niner, DIG Magazine, ENYE formerly known as DÍG en Español and Beach TV News. We encourage those who are looking to contribute to stop by any of the booths and talk to our staff members.

Beach Media is a recent addition to the student-run family as it is the media company that provides business operations, advertising sales, distribution management, promotional services, creative assistance and technology support to these publications and allows students to utilize their skills and beyond.

“Student publications are the voice of a campus,” added Agresta. “Our student media makes every student’s voice heard and gives our campus community access to free news about issues they truly care about.”

With the ongoing services student media provides, we cannot wait to share and celebrate with the entirety of the CSULB population.

If you would like to support student media, please feel free to donate to empower your future journalists! If you want to get involved in the action go to the Beach Media website. Come out and enjoy some free treats, games, music and more!
